1.3 Purpose of this manual
The purpose of this manual is to familiarize users with AI-based patent search using INTERGATOR Patent Search. It explains key functions and methods that help users achieve precise and efficient search results, evaluate hits in a structured way and document the results in a traceable manner. While INTERGATOR Patent Search partly resembles classical search systems, it also provides specially developed functions for the analysis, relevance assessment and further processing of patent information.
This manual therefore describes not only how search queries are created, filters are applied and hit lists are evaluated. It also explains how INTERGATOR Patent Search supports further work steps โ such as the technical analysis of individual patent documents, the assessment of feature overlaps, the relevance analysis of hits, the re-ranking of result lists and the creation of documentable reports. As a result, patent search is not understood as an isolated search process, but as an end-to-end workflow from the initial question through hit identification to technical evaluation and documentation.
Given the wide range of application scenarios โ whether novelty search, validity analysis, FTO analysis or monitoring โ this manual focuses on providing a practical and easy-to-understand introduction to the application without going into unnecessary technical detail. It shows how the platform supports users in finding relevant patents, assessing their technical significance, gradually refining search results and preparing the insights gained in a traceable way for internal coordination, evaluations or reports.
